Who's your favorite leading man who played opposite Judy?...Mine is probably Gene Kelly, in for me and my gal, closely followed by Mickey Rooney (the Andy Hardy series) or James Mason (A Star Is Born).
Here's a few to get you going (If I get any wrong please tell me, I may have got names mixed up):
Fred Astare (Easter Parade and others) Tom Drake (Meet Me In Saint Louis) Van Heflin (Presenting Lilly Mars) Robert Walker (The Clock) John Hodiak (The Harvey Girls) Van Johnson (In The Good Old Summertime) Dirk Bogarde (I could go on singing)

Mine is Gene Kelly. He and Judy had this sexual chemistry that came across in every movie they made together. I also love Judy and Mickey's movies . As teenagers they were so cute as a couple and their musical numbers together are priceless. But, Judy and Gene steamed up the screen.

Of course I love Gene... But for me it's Van Johnson... I think they have the best chemistry especially in that last scene. Psychologically that is.

Ha Kris! Very clever. I have to go with Gene as well. They just played off each other so well. I always remember from That's Entertainment the back and forth between Gene and Fred. About For Me and My Gal being Gene's first movie and it happened to be with Judy. Fred's comment "Well that's what I call starting at the top". Bravo!

I agree...the chemistry between Gene and Judy is great on screen. They should have got together...they would have made a good couple, I think.

Gene and Judy had a mutual respect and love for one another's talents as well as on a personal level that was extremely palpable as was with Fred Astaire. I think Burt Lancaster and she had a remarkble chemistry that worked well for the overall objective and obstacles in "A CHILD IS WAITING" and whilst they starred together as animated cats, I think Robert Goulet and she were a dynamic pair.

I agree about Robert Goulet. I was just watching the judy garland show on DVD and the first episode with Mickey Rooney. And he truly has such a great love for her. I think he's kicking himself for not marrying her and fawning over fools like Lana Turner instead... when she had a big crush on him

Hmmm...I was going to make a poll for this...but I couldn't decide who to cut out if I was going to make it a little easier to decide than my other one. I think I'll just keep it as a thread.

My favourite is the two Vans..I can't make up my mind which one, but I think Judy had more chemistry with both of them then she ever had with Gene Kelly..he was too competitive.
I think in those two films she was at her funniest, most sparkling, comedy at it's best.

I've changed my mind. I think Mickey loved her best. He always stayed true to her, he was just like a brother.
