When are these coming out?
It's so annoying the current DVDs they have subtitles but NO WORDS TO THE SONGS!
That's CR-AP! I'd rather they spent money getting the lyrics up there than boring us with commentary by John Fricke.
All the good musicals have them..the Sound of Music, Mamma Mia..West Side Story..why not Judy Garland? I think kids would love it.

Rainbowgirl which dvd's do you have? I have lyrics on mine...although..the subtitles I notice aren't that good. They could be better. Sing-along dvds would be a GREAT idea. Don't they have that for Wizard of Oz??
Yeah I agree I don't see the point in having John Fricke commenting on the film. He didn't make them and all he talks about is who starred in what, and their names, and what other films they starred in. Like who really cares... and why they need an introduction I don't know. I suspect he just wants to have fingers in all Judy pies or does it as a favour or likes to have his name up there with Judy's, which is a bit sad, taking all the credit for 'preserving Judy' well that's just dumb. Thousands of Judy fans do that quietly and they don't put their names everywhere. If I have to read another liner note where he writes 'proof positive' I will gag.

I had that 7 DVD box set..on 'Harvey Girls' there are no lyrics, and 'Ziegfield Girl' and 'For me and my Gal' - all the girl DVDs when a song comes on there are no words! ASIB has them, I have still to check WOZ.. but I thought that sucked.
Does your Judy songbook DVD have the words? Yeah Judy karaoke would be so much fun. I can't believe nobody's put anything out. I would if I knew how to do it. Maybe there's a software program that does it?
Also I think it sux that there are NO LYRICS in the liner notes to ANY Judy CD that I've ever come across. You'd think that would be the most important thing rather than re-hashing notes on Judy's career.

I suspect they don't have any lyrics because Judy never wrote any herself.
That singalong CD looks pathetic. It's only backing tracks, no lyrics, and not even a DVD so can't be called Karaoke. And what's with the album cover? Is that meant to be Judy on the cover???

That's disappointing. You'd think with Singstar being so popular, you'd have at least one DVD or game featuring one of the greatest singers of all time.
We should petition playstation or whoever makes the kareoke DVDs for a Judy Garland album. She's not too difficult to sing along to either - I mean in terms of vocal range, she's not like a high soprano.
We could pick some really good songs - they could have a 'concert version' and a 'duet' album and also a 'movie favourites' Judy singalong. They possibilities are endless. They could edit out Barbara Streisand in the Get Happy duet, so the singer could sing her(or his) part along with Judy! I think they did something like that for Lorna's 'songs my mother told me' show.

I'm not very technical! I might have to ask a friend to make one for me. I can find the lyrics and everything, it's just synchronising the words to the music that might be difficult. I wonder how people do it. Can you isolate the vocal from the instrumental on Judy Garland recordings? I thought she sung live in front of an entire orchestra. There's no cutting and pasting with her recordings like people do nowadays. People call that 'frankenstein' recordings when producers overlay soundtrack upon soundtrack.

I would do it if I had the time and the equipment. I love karaoke.

Mamma Mia sing-along has just come out on DVD- saw it in the shops last week. They bring out DVDs really fast these days.

The DVD makers could probably do this really well if they took the tv show concert footage and added the words...maybe?
or added lyrics to the Judy Garland Songbook that came with the Mickey/Judy box set.
maybe if they re-release the DVDs they might add this feature. Take all the other extras off - we don't really need them, and put maybe three movies together back to back on one disc with lyrics and a hard-copy songbook.

yeah I bought it. Good for girly slumberparties.
The Mamma Mia CD also has all the words to the songs printed in the booklet. I don't see why they couldn't do it for Oz and all the other movie soundtracks Judy was in.
I have the OZ album on CD, but all it is is liner notes on the making of the movie, to be honest, I don't really care how it was made. It's like, buying a box of popcorn and having an essay on how it was grown and popped for you written on the box. News flash -NOBODY CARES!
Well..no offence to the people who grew and popped the popcorn, but we know and already appreciate the fact, if we didn't, we wouldn't buy the popcorn now would we? If it didn't taste good..we don't need people telling us how good it tastes..if it didn't, then nobody would buy it.
