took some gorgeous shots of Judy Garland, he was a famous photographer in the 50's-60's
He took the famous 'Get Happy' shot, which is used for the cover of many Judy biographies, including the one by Geralde Clarke and John Fricke.
He took the one of Judy in the tramp/charlie chaplin costume with the dirty face holding a rose, and the blacked out teeth...
He took the star as born close up face.. which is an almost exact copy of the one used for 'Funny Face' pink LP cover for Audrey Hepburn (which he did the shots for that movie too, Fred Astaire played him as 'thingy Avery')
...would love to know more about this famous photographer. His work is striking and unmistakeable, and also has the disctinction of being unique and glamourous without being fakely glamourous and overdone.
