I saw this movie! 'In the good old summertime' I think is one of her best..so romantic!
And wasn't that Liza as her little girl? She was sooo cute!!
and Van Johnson is a honey.
After all that confusion "I'm very psychologically confused, but I feel wonderful! " lol
they got together after all.
Such a lovely movie. And the songs are all gorgeous. especially "merry christmas".. beats "have yourself a merry little christmas" hands down.
oh BTW the Jackson 5 did a version as well as the Carpenters. I think they did it better (sorry Judy) altho Judy was the very first to sing it. It will always be Judy's first big Christmas song that she inspired.

Yes that was Liza. Wasn't she gorgeously cute??
I think it is a very overlooked and underrated Judy Garland movie, probably because Van Johnson isn't as well known as Gene Kelly or Mickey Rooney or Fred Astaire but he was perfect for the part nevertheless.
And it being set in a music store is just right for Judy, so no big flashy fantasy song and dance numbers.
