Maybe this has been posted before, but I didn't find it in a search! Judy's Evanview home is apparently up for sale (only about $5 mil, ha!!). You can take a virtual tour of it through the realtor's website. Here is the link: 8850evanview.com/slideshow.htmlI'm sure it's a lot different than when Judy owned it, but it's still fun to look at.

Hmm, I don't like it very much. How long did she live there? I thought she always rented homes.

If you like that check out this!! lxtv.com/openhousela/video/8895Really really lovely house, beautiful views although the 'master bedroom' windows are a bit weird? It's interesting to look in the magazine interviews from the 40s with Judy where the house is described, and then see it for real now! It doesn't seem much has changed [the bit in one of the interviews about the balcony.] I'd like to buy that!

Great link, Lily! How did you find that?? Apparently it's been recently renovated so that it's more "green." I'm not one much for sleek lines and such, I'm more of a retro person, but I still wouldn't mind living in Judy's house!
Judydarling, according to the JGDB, Judy lived at the Evanview (not EvanSview, sorry!) house from September 1944 to Spring 1948.

Are you looking for homes to buy? Do many people in US have $5 million? Def buy it if I won lotto...you could all come over and we have a JGDB party ;-)

Hi bogart. Strange.....I don't have to log into either website to look at them! I wonder what's up with that. It's not the house on Stone Canyon, the road is Evanview Drive. I love the one on Stone Canyon, wish I could see the inside of that one. Actually, you can see a recent image of the Stone Canyon house on Google Maps (I think - the address they give is actually 1236 Stone Canyon Rd in Los Angeles, but I think their numbers are a little off, because it sure does look like her home. Try it out! Go to the satellite view and then drag the little man over onto the street so you can get a street view of the home.
I found these by just doing a search while board. I googled Judy Garland homes and the Evanview home popped up.

there's a pix of Judy's Hollywood home on Stone Canyon in this book called 'Hollywood Houses' i think it is - and of the inside of them as well. It is a neat book, and also some pics in colour!
Judy had a separate entrance planned so she could have visitors wigthout annoying her mother - I think she lived with her mum and sisters and granny. Her bed is huge and got pictures all around of music, also a jukebox /gramophone thingy. The steps leading down to stone canyon are stones that you can hop from one to another. A neat house also a lovely garden.
Wonder who the lucky person is who lives there now??

Didn't Judy and Vincente buy Jean Harlow's old house to live in?
I remember Lorna describing some of the hotels and houses they lived in, one was a monstrosity, really gaudy and overdone they had nightmares living in it. But she loved the Rockingham Drive house, all covered in ivy. That was the one Judy bought with Sid with her Judy Garland Show salary.
But I don't think they could afford to keep up with the payments on it. It costs a lot to run and manage a household, I don't think Judy was up for the task, when she was so busy singing alll the time. And apparently Sid gambled away a lot of her money.
Thats really sad that Sid did that and to this day I don't think Judy ever forgave him. It was her money.
