Sigh
Any HK fans may know that HK film Archive would have a screening of A star is Born by Judy. When I know this, the booking is filled, maybe there's a post-screening talk afterwards. And I'm not available on the extra screening.... Sigh.

Star is Born Discussion ? The theater in the beginning of the movie is called the Shrine I think. Ive seen a photo of Jimmy Page playing with the Yard Byrd's there and have a CD of the blues guitarist Peter Green playing with his famous rock group there. The Man That Got Away I think Judy only went 99 % on that performance, compared to 100 % as an adult performance like Get Happy and F D Roosevelt Jones. Big difference that one %. When she finishes Born In a Trunk sitting on the stage, she goes that last 1 %. That little black kid almost steals that scene from Judy. Another star performer would probable have felt threatened by him and dumped him. He probably reminded Judy of someone else as a child star. I think that's the real Una Merkle in the beginning of the movie. I have her doing a skit with Clarke Gable on a 1938 radio show ( Godde News ). An Oscar for Judy? Judy's not an actress, Thank God, Her juvenile Oscar for the Wizard of Oz is looked at in the wrong way. That is a wonderful award for her that would cover everything she had done since two and a half years old to that point in her life. That first view of Judy in the movie with her beautiful legs, Boy Oh Boy! A Warner Brothers film, I wonder how her career would have been different if she worked for a different studio than MGM. I would like to have seen her in a sycological thriller where she plays a " Mad " child. Id kill to she her play Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family Values film.
